roy c. iglesias, i've a bone to pick with you.
you see out of all the filmfest movies, i actually wanted to watch YOUR movie. in fact, i was so excited to watch desperadas i dragged an officemate with me. and, in spite of the generally bad review, i found myself actually ENJOYING the movie, especially rufa mae's character.
what i don't get is how you portrayed UP, especially UP lawyers and UP Law. may galit ka ba? for one, that dinner conversation between iza and ryan? THAT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN IN REAL LIFE. come on. no one would actually say "ok naman ang UP" as a law school (ryan's line after asking iza if she went to ateneo. UP isn't just "ok naman", it's one of the best law schools in the country, if not the best and i'm willing to bet that 90%, if not more, of the college students out there thinking of going into law school are praying that they pass the UP Law Aptitude Exam. and, to add insult to injury, iza answers by saying that "dapat nga sa san beda siya pumasok ng law" and she just somehow ended up in UP is something that would probably NEVER happen in real life. come on.
not only that, you portrayed iza as the bumbling idiot of a lawyer who, in rufa mae's words, "can't even win a driving without a license case". mr. iglesias, no one goes to court for driving without a license.
i've nothing against using poetic license to make things more appealing to the viewing public. but you could've at least stretched the truth a little less and did more research.
because come on, no one prepares for an estafa case using amjur.
p.s. maybe i should've just watched resiklo. in fairness, the graphics seemed fabulous on the tv trailer.
